An Absolutely Beautiful Hotel
Hi George,
Thank you very much for your email and for giving my husband and I a wonderful memory of our honeymoon. The Myconian Ambassador is an absolutely beautiful hotel and if I ever return to Mykonos, I will only return to stay at a Myconian Ambassador hotel, which I will recommend to anyone who will be traveling to Greece. The staff at the hotel are very professional, friendly, and helpful; the breakfasts are delicious; the rooms, the pool and the views are amazing; and I can go on and on. We had a great time and they day that we left for Santorini, we had only wished we spent more time on Mykonos at the Ambassador.
We choose this hotel because it was part of the Relais & Chateaux association and we understand what it means for a hotel to belong to it. We felt that the Ambassador lives up to its value and commitment as being a part of this association, much more than our experience at another Relais & Chateaux hotel on Santorini.
We spent a lot of money to stay at the hotel on Santorini and we both felt that our stay at the Myconian Ambassador was definitely better. Our strongest criticism was that the Ambassador was significantly better managed. At the Santorini hotel, we spent one day by the pool. The pool staff was on the "guest computer" the entire day. And whenever another guest was using the computer, one of the staff would peek through the door or window to see if they were still using it, and would jump back onto the computer as soon as it was available. I heard several guests ask them if they would mind if they could use the computer. I don't believe that any guest should have to ask a staff member to use the "guest computer". The staff was all fairly young (less than 30 years old), they knew that what they were doing was inappropriate, and there was absolutely no one supervising them. When we checked out, we wanted to mention something to the front desk, but like the pool staff, they were young and without supervision. Being about the same age, we felt uncomfortable expressing the staff's poor behavior because we felt that we wouldn't be taken seriously. We spent the rest of the week comparing both hotels and how much better our stay at the Ambassador was. Even without comparing, we do not even have one complaint about the Ambassador.
In summary, thank you for a wonderful honeymoon at Myconian Ambassador. We hope to visit again soon and next time we will definitely stay longer!
A Definite Relais & Chateaux Property!
My husband and I spent 5 days at the Myconian Ambassador. We arrived (minus our luggage - that's another story!). Tired, hungry, grungy, not happy campers at all. Hotel van dropped us off at the lobby and we were immediately transported into a wonderful elegant, serene and aromatic world. Aromatic due to a thalassopy spa on the premises which gives off this great spa aroma all over the property. Front desk staff greeted us with a drink and cold towel and assured us our luggage would arrive the next day (which it did). They gave us additional complementary toiletries as ours were in our luggage. Took us right to our room after a quick sign in. Rooms are a good size (by Mykonos standards). Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. And of course a view to die for when you open the balcony doors! Our dinner at the restaurant was outstanding and drinks at the bar while chatting with Stefanos (bartender) quite enjoyable. Hotel is 4 km from Mykonos town - bus stop short walk away if needed. Boat taxis available at Platys Gialos beach (just below hotel) which take you to Paradise or Super Paradise beaches.
Beautiful view from pool and pool deck - water a little too cool to swim in October though. We were so comfortable and felt so pampered we were a little reluctant to leave the hotel and do all the 'touristy' things we knew we had to do. Extremely good value for the price.
Pick this hotel!
If you are undecided on where to stay in Mykonos, pick this hotel! The staff can not do enough to help you, and the rooms are big enough to fit 3 very comfortably. Its close to restuarants, a beach is about a 2 minute walk away as is the bus stop to the town etc. The pool is lovely, with relaxing sun lounges all around. The spa is also great, if you want to treat yourself.
If you want to sleep in, the rooms have double black out doors so not an ounce of light comes in until you want it to- then you open them up to a magnificent view out of the beach.
I would reccommend this hotel to anyone, couples, friends, families.
Attention to details
The staff at this hotel made us feel like a king and queen. Every request we made was "their pleasure". The attention to detail is superb. We didn't want to check out. If we had known how incredible our experience was going to be, we would have booked for a longer stay.
