Delos provides a tranquil day out from the vibrant activity of Mykonos. Visit one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Said to be the mythical birthplace of the gods Apollo and Artemis, Delos was first inhabited in 3000 BCE.
The oldest temples on the island are dedicated to Apollo and date from the 8th century BCE. In Hellenistic times, Delos was an important religious and commercial centre, enjoying great prosperity. The Archaeological Museum of Delos contains an excellent collection of statues discovered on the island including a set of large lions.
